The Braids are Out....My edges are gone....

Yes...you read that right. I took my braids out...I could not take it anymore. As expected, my edges have thinned out. Am I overreacting? No. My boyfriend, who knows nothing about hair, asked what happened to my hairline. Yes...I cried.

So....bootcamp it is...and braids NEVER again. Ladies if you decide to get braids please make sure that they are not too tight.

I will post both pictures of the braids as well as pictures of the damage soon( I have not posted many pics because I spend allot of time at the SO's place.)

Starting...well yesterday...BOOTCAMP. I hennaed my hair (video and pics coming this week) and I will be ding another treatment this weekend. I am also considering an Amla treatment. I have read good things about it.

At any rate...stay tuned and stay away from thsoe TIGHT braiders!

Thanks Vixen. I will check it out. If all else fails there is always Jamaican Black Castor oil. :-)

Sorry about your edges - I still have one of my plaits from years ago that was way too tight and fell out from the root :o(

I would suggest you go the natural route and try using vitamin E (you can use the capsules and poke a whole in them to get the oil) and/or castor oil for you edges.

Sorry to hear that! :(

The page looks great-oh and I did a cassia treatment over the weekend--can't wait to see the henna stuff though because I'm not sure I did it right...

Anyway, your hair will grow back in no time-braids are the spawn of satan-lol

Hello! I am a professional hair braider and I have been braiding for several years. I have also been doing my own braids for several years. All of my clients hair has actual grown a whole lot since I have started braiding there hair. I have never had breakage when I do my own hair. But a couple of times I let some people braid my hair and they also had my edges coming out and thinning! Braids don’t take your hair out at all it is the person who do them b/c they are braiding to tight and putting a really little bit of hair in the braids when they are braiding it. That causes the braid to just break off from the scalp. So again there isn’t anything wrong with getting braids you just have to make sure the person know about good hair care and not just know how to braid!!!
Take care and be Blessed....

P.S If you are ever in atlanta please look me up. My website is: akiyia.webs.com
